Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble getting verified with Icarus, this is the place for you!

How do I get verified?

Check out our Getting Verified page. It provides complete details on this process.

How do I unverify myself?

If you would like to unverify or unlink yourself, in the channel you begun verification in, click on the scissors reaction and the bot will instantly unlink your account.

If you don't know where to go, join the Icarus Support server and see our channel named #verify.

Click the scissors reaction to unlink yourself.

The username is too long!

  • NO it's not! You're doing it wrong!

  • The bot ONLY ACCEPTS friend requests using the EPIC GAMES user!

  • DO NOT send a friend request to a PSN or XBL user!! The bot cannot and will not accept that.

The bot did not accept my friend request!

  • Make sure you sent a friend request to the correct account! See Getting Verified for more details.

  • Be patient! It can sometimes take up to 30 seconds for the bot to accept your friend request.

  • You may need to send another friend request again.

  • If you're on console, make sure you added the Epic user and not the gamertag.

The bot automatically deletes friends after 10 minutes of being added. If you are not verified before then, simply readd the bot, it should accept you.

I sent the code and nothing happened!

  • Make sure you message the bot on Fortnite or the Epic Launcher. Not in Discord.

  • Make sure you don't have a period or anything at the end of the code.

  • Make sure you enter the exact code Icarus provided to you.

  • Be patient! It may take a minute to process if a lot of people are trying to verify at once.

I cannot whisper or message the bot on Fortnite!

  • Make sure you are friends with the bot. Send a friend request to the correct account.

  • If you're friends with the bot on Fortnite, try restarting your game.

I verified but am not receiving any roles!

Try reacting to the verification message again by clicking the 🔗 reaction. Upon doing so, the bot will then process your roles in all servers.

It says the EpicId is already verified!

The Epic Games account you're trying to verify is already linked to another Discord account. To fix this, you will have to figure out which account it's linked to, and unlink that account.

It says the code-user is already verified!

This means that someone has already verified using the code you're using. Make sure you use the code provided to you and you only!

If you are experiencing a weird case of this, try to restart your verification entirely. The bot will give you a new code to use.

The bot is not sending me a message when I react!

Enable "Allow direct messages from server members" setting

I do not see a verification message or reaction to start verification!!

Tick all boxes seen in "Text & Images" settings

My Verify roles are not being given out!!

Check your role hieirarchy and make sure Icarus role is higher than your Verified role. It's a Discord limitation that roles cannot be given out unless the user/bot's role is higher.

Notice how Icarus is much higher in the roles list?

It's still not working, I tried everything!!

Then simply restart the verification process over again. It typically works the second time. Note that doing this will provide you with an entirely new code to verify with.
